Bergen County is currently under a Red Flag Warning, no open burns or fire pits are permitted. There is a large brush fire on the Palisades right now causing a heavy smoke condition throughout the Northern Valley. We are aware of the haze and the smell of something burning.

We have just been made aware that our Closter Police Department’s phone number may have been spoofed. The Closter Police will not be calling you letting you know your identity has been compromised. We will never ask for donations over the phone. If you suspect the call to be suspicious please hang up and call us to confirm if the Closter Police were looking to speak with you.

As you may be aware, the State of NJ is extremely dry currently which has significantly raised the threat and danger of brush fires. Closter Town Celebration Postponed until Saturday September 14th ! Due to the predicted poor weather conditions for Saturday September 7th. Closter’s annual town celebration is being postponed until next Saturday Sept 14th 3pm-9pm Fireworks. Same time for all other events. Due to the planning needed for food, workers, and fireworks prep, a decision for this Saturday’s event needs to be made this morning (Friday Sept 6) and the weather is poor at best and includes chance of lightning which would cause immediate evacuation of the park. Saturday Sept 14 3pm-8:30pm FREE Rides for all of the kiddies and Fireworks around 9pm. PLEASE thank and support our great sponsors for providing the funds for the FREE Rides for the children!!!
