Public Transportation

Public transportation by bus is available through Rockland Coaches (Coach USA) and New Jersey Transit .

Rockland Coaches provides several routes of service (click on route numbers for full schedules):

The 20 route runs between Nyack, Blauvelt, Tappan, or Harrington Park and the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 41 st Street in Manhattan .  Riders can board either of these buses at signed locations along Harrington Avenue and along Closter Dock Road from the railroad crossing to the Piermont Road intersection.

New Jersey Transit also operates the 167 route which runs Monday through Saturday along Schraalenburgh Road from Harrington Park to the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 41 st Street in Manhattan .

There are two bus shelters in Closter for southbound riders—one on Knickerbocker Road at Durie Avenue and the other on Piermont Road at Closter Dock Road .
